About Distillerie Les Coulets
Les Coulets is a family lavender and lavandin farm with its own traditional distillery on the road from Apt toward Rustrel, on the north side of the Luberon. Everything it sells comes out of its own stills and is sold straight from a shop on the property. The farm holds the CENSO label, a sustainability program for French lavender and lavandin essential oil growers.
The distilling season starts in early July with clary sage and runs to mid-September, when the last lavandin is processed. The 2026 regional tourism listing gives daily opening from July 10 to August 24, and the hours published for the season are 9 am to noon and 2 to 6 pm; the listing marks those hours as unconfirmed, so a call ahead is wise. Tours of the distillery are free and open to all ages, but they are given only in French, in small groups, and tour coaches are not accepted.
This is a working farm distillery rather than a show garden. The reason to stop is to see the stills run during harvest and to buy essential oil from the people who grew and distilled it. Animals are not accepted, the site is listed as wheelchair accessible with assistance, and there is private parking. Apt's town center is a short drive away, so it fits easily into a day of Luberon villages.
