About McKenzie River Lavender

McKenzie River Lavender is a small farm on the McKenzie Highway about ten miles east of Springfield, set among hazelnut orchards and pastures in the McKenzie River Valley. Carol and Charles Tannenbaum manage it. The farm's specialty is Grosso lavender, which it distills into essential oil and hydrosol.

Most of the year the farm is open by appointment only. Its big public weekend is the annual Lavender Bloom, held Friday through Sunday on the second weekend of July. In 2026 it ran July 10 to 12, from 10 AM to 5 PM each day. During the Bloom you can cut your own bouquet in the field, listen to live music, buy food from vendors and shop from local artisans selling skin care, jewelry and woven scarves.

The farm makes its own soap, lotion and other skin care, organza sachets, dried bunches, ribbon-woven lavender wands and dried buds, along with fresh bouquets in season. These are sold year-round online and in person by appointment.

The McKenzie Highway continues east along the river toward the Cascades, so a Bloom visit can start or finish a summer drive up the valley.
