About Pleasant Hill Campground

Pleasant Hill Campground is a family campground on Mansel Road in Hermon, just outside Bangor, set up as a base for exploring central Maine. Sites run from shaded tent spots under the pines to 30- and 50-amp RV sites with full hookups or pump-out service, including pull-throughs. There are also cabins in traditional, hexagon and A-frame styles, each with air conditioning and a queen bed, as well as seasonal sites and RV rentals.

The campground opens May 1 and closes on Columbus Day (Indigenous Peoples Day) in October, and it was booking the 2026 season. Summer is the liveliest stretch, with a Fourth of July night on the party deck and Christmas in July in late July. Bar Harbor, Moosehead Lake and Mount Katahdin all make day trips from here.

You can fill a day without leaving: there is an inground pool, mini golf, an arcade, catch-and-release fishing ponds, laundry and Wi-Fi in common areas, and the events calendar adds bingo, paint-and-sip nights and catered dinners. Dogs are welcome on a leash and can run free in the off-leash dog park; bring proof of vaccinations. Check-in starts at 2 p.m., check-out is at 11 a.m., and quiet hours run from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Moore Manor Lavender in Newport is about 25 minutes west on I-95, a good summer afternoon trip from the campground.
