We all need a Savior
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

None of us can earn our way to God by being good enough. We all need mercy.

This guide covers inland Midcoast Maine between the Sheepscot River and Penobscot Bay. Glendarragh Farm Lavender grows on 26 acres along the St. George River in Appleton, about 25 minutes inland from Camden, and keeps a year-round shop on Main Street in Camden. SeaLyon Farm sits in Alna, in the Sheepscot valley near Wiscasset, beside the station of a narrow-gauge steam railway museum.
Lavender season here is short. Glendarragh opens its fields from late June through July, with daily Open Farm Days in July and evening concerts in mid to late July, so July is the month to plan around. Rockland, about 35 minutes from Appleton, has the Farnsworth's Wyeth collection, the Maine Lighthouse Museum and the Owls Head Transportation Museum, and Camden adds a free nature center and harbor dining. SeaLyon has not published visiting hours, but in fall the railway runs a pumpkin train to the farm.
U-pick lavender in summer and seasonal events; many visits are by ticketed train trip from the railway's Sheepscot station (2026 dates sell out).
