About Rick Erwin's West End Grille

Rick Erwin's West End Grille opened in 2005 at the west end of Main Street, when downtown Greenville had only a handful of restaurants. It calls itself the city's original upscale steakhouse and is the flagship of the Rick Erwin Dining Group, which now runs several restaurants across the Upstate. General manager Sebastian Grier has been with the group for a decade.

Dinner centers on premium cuts of beef and seafood, with classic steakhouse favorites alongside newer dishes, served from a full bar with cocktails and craft beer. The wine list is broad and international, and the restaurant has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year since 2006.

This is a dinner-only spot, Monday through Saturday, and it is closed on Sundays. For groups, the Wine Room seats up to 22 and overlooks Main Street beside the wine cellar, with no room fee but food and drink minimums starting at $1,500 Monday-Thursday ($2,000 Friday-Saturday), rising for the November 13 to December 31 holiday period. A screen and projector can be added.

Valensole Farm, a lavender and berry farm near Travelers Rest, is about 30 minutes north of downtown by US-25. Spend the afternoon in the Upstate countryside, then come back to the West End for dinner.
