Overview
Berries sit between herbs and orchard fruit: a moderate cost, a 10-week wait and a good payment that repeats. The game's note for them: "Requires crop-specific soil pH, fertility, pruning, bird protection and harvest labor."
The crops
| Crop | Plant cost | Value per harvest | Weeks | Type | Plant in | Harvest in |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blueberries | 75 | 110 | 10 | Perennial | Spring or Summer | Summer or Fall |
| Strawberries | 75 | 110 | 10 | Perennial | Spring or Summer | Summer or Fall |
| Raspberries | 75 | 110 | 10 | Perennial | Spring or Summer | Summer or Fall |
Berries in the kitchen
- The farm kitchen's Blueberries & cherries ingredient uses blueberries, raspberries and strawberries you grew before anything bought at the Market Square grocer.
- Summer-only recipes use berries: Lavender Blueberry Jam (worth about 52 coins, farm level 5), Lavender Strawberry Lemonade (about 34 coins, level 5) and Lavender Berry Crumble Bars (about 40 coins, level 6).
How enterprise plots work
- Diversification opens once your farm is established: Year 2, Level 5, 20 lavender harvests or 25 reputation (any one).
- You start with 4 enterprise plots and can add 2 more at a time for 250 coins × your current plots, up to 12.
- A crop grows one week each farm week. When it has grown its full weeks and the season is right, tap Harvest.
- A harvest pays the crop's value × (1 + reputation ÷ 300) in coins at once, gives 5 XP, and puts one unit in your diversified inventory.
- Annual crops leave the plot after harvest. Perennial crops stay and are ready again 5 weeks later.
Tips
- Plant in spring: the 10 weeks finish in summer, right when the berry recipes are in season.
- After each harvest the plants are ready again in 5 weeks while it is still summer or fall.
