Overview
The game counts time in days, weeks, seasons and years. The farm clock shows the day and date; the Lavender Field and the reports show the season, week and year, such as Spring · Year 1 · Week 4.
The units
| Unit | Length | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Day | 24 farm hours | Days start at 6:00 AM after End Day or a new week. |
| Week | 7 days, Monday to Sunday | Plants grow and weekly systems resolve once per week. |
| Season | 13 weeks | Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, in that order. |
| Year | 4 seasons = 52 weeks | Each new year adds 4 reputation. |
Farm dates
Every farm day has a real calendar date. Year 1, Spring, Week 1, Monday is April 15, and each day after that follows in order. The game uses these dates to fetch real weather, to work out sunrise and sunset, and to place each cultivar's bloom window.
Because a game season is a 13-week block counted from mid-April, game Spring runs from about mid-April to mid-July, Summer from mid-July to mid-October, Fall from mid-October to mid-January and Winter from mid-January to mid-April. Some screens also name the real month's season (March to May is spring, and so on).
Fresh farms and your location
When you set your location on a brand-new farm that you have not played yet, the game can line up the start of Year 1 with your area's spring planting time. A farm you have already played, or one you imported, is never rewound.
Tips
- The weather card shows Day X of 365 and changes its tip of the day every day.
- Seasons in the weekly report follow the game's own Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter labels; a new season gets its own picture card.
