Lavender Field

The Lavender Field is your main growing area: 30 plots where you plant, water, inspect and harvest lavender with six tools, then advance the week to let it grow.

🎮 Play it in the game

Overview

The Lavender Field is where the heart of the game happens. It holds 30 plots in a grid. Plots 1–3 are a free starter row; every Lavender Row you place on the Farm Map opens three more. You pick a tool, pick a cultivar, tap a plot, and press Advance week to let the plants grow.

Lavender here is a perennial: after a harvest the crown stays in the ground, drops back to stage 2 and grows again. Each planted plot shows a small "Y1", "Y2"… badge for how many years it has been in the field.

What is on the screen

  • Planting status bar at the top: "Outdoor planting open" or "paused", a short reason, your last spring and first fall frost dates, the farm calendar, a Why? button and a Field Almanac button.
  • Your Lavender Field header with Hide/Show planning and Advance week.
  • A weather line for the week (for example "Calm week … a good week for field work").
  • Tool bar: Plant, Water, Inspect, Harvest, Clear and Pollinator row, plus a cultivar picker (shows the selected cultivar, or "Choose cultivar").
  • Next step: one plain line with the best thing to do now and a button that does it.
  • Field at a glance ribbon: the season and its goal (Spring "Establish with evidence", Summer "Deliver without overharvesting", Fall "Reckon with the numbers", Winter "Plan for the perennial") with a Plan → button, then weather, harvest-ready plots, equipment condition, visitor plans, crown health and weekly labor.
  • The plot grid (30 plots). Open plots show "+ Plant here"; locked plots say "Needs a map row".
  • Planning panel beside the field with the Crop Planner for the selected plot and three tabs: Cultivars, Upgrades and Soil.
  • Support panel under the field: planted rows, a crop-care list and field records.

A week in the field

  1. Check the Next step line and the ribbon.
  2. Plant empty plots when outdoor planting is open.
  3. Inspect plants that look weak, and water only plots that are dry.
  4. Harvest plants at the right flower stage.
  5. Press Advance week. Weather, growth and the weekly report play out.

Rules worth knowing

  • Outdoor planting opens after your last spring frost and has a fall window too. Outside those windows, or in unsafe weather, planting is paused (a Greenhouse can still grow).
  • A cultivar must be unlocked for your Farm Level and must suit your hardiness zone to go in the ground outdoors.
  • Lavender hates wet feet: the game blocks watering when the soil is already moist, rain is coming, the ground is frozen or the plant is dormant.
  • A plot reserved for an active Enterprise harvest order cannot be harvested, cleared or turned into a pollinator row until that order is done.

Tips

  • Pick cultivars marked "well suited" for your zone in the Cultivars tab.
  • Weekly labor shows how busy the week is: about 6 hours plus a little more for each plant, event and nursery batch, and 8 extra in summer.
  • Do the first objective (analyze your site and record a soil test) for +10 XP; the big learning panels then fold neatly into the Field Almanac.
