Why this pairing works
Creamy, sweet, peppery and floral all in one bite. Black pepper is a surprising lavender partner: its heat makes the floral notes pop.

Ingredients
- 2 cups whole-milk ricotta
- 2 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3 Tbsp Lavender Wildflower Honey, divided
- 1/4 tsp Culinary Lavender Buds, lightly crushed
- Lavender Pepper Grinder, cracked, to taste
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Crackers, sliced pears, grapes or toasted Lavender Bread Mix (Lemon), for dipping
Directions
- Blend the ricotta, cream cheese and 1 Tbsp honey in a food processor until very smooth, about 2 minutes.
- Spread into a shallow bowl, making swoops with the back of a spoon.
- Drizzle with the remaining honey, then sprinkle with crushed lavender, cracked pepper and lemon zest.
- Serve with crackers, fruit or toasted slices of lemon lavender bread.
Crush lavender buds just before using. Crushing releases the flavor oils, and they fade quickly. Honey isn't safe for babies under 1 year old.
Make it your own
- Swap the pepper for chopped pistachios.
- Serve warm: bake at 400°F for 12 minutes, then drizzle.
