Lavender Vanilla Ground Coffee: A Smooth, Floral Start to the Day

On this page
Mornings on the farm start early, and they start with coffee. Our Lavender Vanilla Ground Coffee is the bag we reach for when we want the cup to feel like a small reward: smooth and sweet from the vanilla, with a soft floral lavender finish.
Quick answer: It is pre-ground for drip makers and pour-over. Brew it the way you usually brew coffee, then enjoy it black, with cream, or iced with a spoonful of lavender sugar.
What it tastes like
Vanilla rounds out the coffee and makes it taste naturally sweet and mellow. Lavender comes in at the end as a gentle floral note rather than a strong perfume. It is a flavored coffee for people who like their mug cozy, not loud.
Brewing tips
- Drip maker: a common starting point is about 2 tablespoons of grounds per 6 oz of water. Adjust to taste.
- Pour-over: wet the filter first, bloom the grounds with a splash of hot water for about 30 seconds, then pour slowly in circles.
- Fresh water: cold, fresh water makes a cleaner-tasting cup.
- Do not reheat: flavored coffee tastes best freshly brewed. If you will not finish the pot, make iced coffee with the rest.
Iced and dressed up
Brew it a little stronger, let it cool and pour over ice with a splash of cream and a spoonful of our lavender sugar. For a cafe-style drink at home, try our honey lavender iced latte with cold foam. Lavender vanilla coffee is also lovely poured over a scoop of ice cream and a brownie for an affogato, or next to a stack of maple lavender pancakes.
Keeping it fresh
Ground coffee loses aroma fastest when it meets air, light and moisture. Close the bag tightly or move the grounds to an airtight container and store it in a cool, dark cupboard. Skip the refrigerator, where condensation can dull the flavor. Check the package for ingredients and allergen information.
For coffee lovers
A bag of flavored coffee is an easy gift for the person who already owns every mug. Mix and match flavors from the Lavender Ground Coffee listing for a coffee lover's basket, or build one with honey and a cookie mix in the Gift Box Builder.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use it in a French press?
It is ground for drip makers and pour-over. A French press usually calls for a coarser grind, so you may find a little more sediment in the cup.
Is the lavender strong?
No. It is a soft floral finish behind the coffee and vanilla.
