On this page
An Italian affogato is ice cream 'drowned' in hot espresso. We tuck a fudgy lavender brownie underneath. Five minutes, three ingredients, zero leftovers.

Why this pairing works
Hot coffee melts the ice cream into a sweet sauce that soaks into the brownie. Lavender Fields coffee echoes the lavender in the brownie.
Serves 2 Prep 5 min Cook 5 min
Ingredients
- 2 Lavender Brownie, from the farm stand
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1/2 cup Lavender Ground Coffee (Lavender Fields), brewed very strong or as espresso
- 1 tsp Lavender Sugar, for sprinkling
Directions
- Brew the coffee extra strong, about 2 Tbsp grounds per 3 oz water, or use an espresso maker.
- Place a brownie in each bowl and top with a scoop of ice cream.
- Pour the hot coffee over the ice cream at the table.
- Sprinkle with Lavender Sugar and eat right away.
Freeze your bowls for 10 minutes first. The ice cream melts more slowly and the dessert looks better longer.
Make it your own
- Use Hazelnut Lavender coffee.
- Swap the brownie for a Lavender Chocolate Chip Cookie.
