About Arrowhead Inn

Arrowhead Inn is a bed and breakfast just outside downtown Durham, a few minutes from Duke University and a short drive from Raleigh and Chapel Hill. Its main building dates to 1775, and the inn sits on six landscaped acres with gardens that supply some of the breakfast ingredients.

There are nine places to stay: five rooms, two suites, a private Garden Cottage and the secluded Carolina Log Cabin. Every unit has a fireplace, gas log in most and wood-burning in the cabin. Several have double whirlpool tubs or steam showers, including the Benson and Brittain rooms, the Duke Suite, the cottage and the cabin.

Breakfast is three courses, served daily from 8:30 to 9:30 in the Keeping Room or on the verandas. It starts with coffee, tea or juice, then homemade scones or pastries and seasonal fruit, and ends with a hot dish such as crepes, French toast, pancakes, waffles or eggs. The menu shifts with the seasons, and special diets can be handled with notice. The inn also hosts elopements and vow renewals for 2 to 10 people and small family weddings for up to 30.

Lavender Oaks Farm in Chapel Hill is about 30 minutes southwest, so the inn works as a base for a Triangle weekend that pairs the lavender fields with Durham's restaurants.
