About The Rosemary House

The Rosemary House is a six-room inn in a Colonial Revival mansion at 76 West Street in downtown Pittsboro. Local developer L.N. Womble built the house around 1912, and his family kept it until the late 1950s. Decades later, owners Mac and Karen Pullen turned it into an inn, giving every guest room its own bathroom and adding a larger catering kitchen.

Stays are self check-in. Some rooms have fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs, and guests share a dining room that seats 10, a living room with a fireplace, a reading nook and a wraparound front porch with rocking chairs and blankets. Breakfast treats and grab-and-go snacks are out around the clock, and an open pantry holds coffee, tea, home-baked goods and local craft beer.

The house doubles as a micro-wedding and small-event venue, with a wedding garden and fire pit, and it can arrange private dinners with local chefs. Much of the art on the walls comes from Kindred Folk Art Gallery and is for sale. Downtown shops, restaurants and the county history museum are close by, and the inn points guests to Jordan Lake, White Pines Nature Preserve, the Lower Haw River Natural Area and Carolina Tiger Rescue.

Lavender Oaks Farm in Chapel Hill is about 25 minutes north, which makes the inn a quiet base for a lavender weekend in the Triangle.
