About Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm
Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm has held its fall festival in Homer Glen since 1981, and today it runs more like a farm-themed amusement park than a simple patch. The pumpkin patch holds more than 300 tons of pumpkins and gourds, and around it sit 14 mechanical rides, a petting zoo, barnyard animals such as piglets, cows and donkeys, and pig races with three heats in every show.
Fall Fest 2026 runs daily from September 4 through November 8. Rides are included with admission and range from the Barnstormer wave swinger and a spin coaster that runs through a barn's hayloft doors to two train rides and a tractor-pulled hayrack ride. Younger kids can dig in the giant corn box, climb into pumpkin playhouses and Amish-built cottages, and pan for gems. The Haunted Barn is the scary walk-through; the Fun Barn is the gentler choice. A pumpkin cannon launches pumpkins more than a quarter mile, and an animatronic skeleton band plays folk and country tunes.
Food comes from a long row of vendors, from Italian beef and pizza to a bakery barn, apple treats, churro bites and kettle corn, with food trucks rotating through on October dates. Local musicians play in the open-air pavilion. Families and small private groups can reserve group visits, but school and daycare groups are not hosted.
