About True North
True North is a large antique, vintage and maker marketplace on Clay Street in Morris, run by owners Erik and Stacey. It began as a small downtown shop with 12 hand-picked vendors, grew through a Yorkville store and a series of warehouse spaces, and moved its main operation to Clay Street in August 2024. A roughly 10,000-square-foot upstairs space called North Avenue opened in May 2025, and a basement level followed in May 2026, bringing the store to three floors, about 32,000 square feet and around 250 vendors.
Expect antiques and vintage pieces alongside work from local makers, furniture, home goods, plants, clothing and gifts. Next Page Book Store on the first floor sells new and used books, and the store also runs a large sticker section. Plan on at least an hour or two; the store says it is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas.
True North hosts free events and clubs, including a junk journal group, and its 2026 calendar lists a holiday party on Sunday, November 8. Groups of six or more can book a private shopping party, groups of 10 or more get free swag bags, and field trips or birthday and shower outings can be arranged ahead by email. The store has no café, but staff will point you to lunch spots in Morris, which is under a mile away.
Nettle Creek Lavender Farm is about 5 miles west of Morris, roughly a 10-minute drive. In early summer, visit the lavender fields first and spend the afternoon browsing here, about 1.5 miles off I-80.
