About Kane Family Farms
Kane Family Farms is a family-run fall farm in the countryside around Ottawa in LaSalle County. Each autumn the family opens a corn maze and a long list of farm games, from a combine slide and grain bin corn pit to a climbing straw pyramid, barrel train rides and water pump duck races. There's also a shorter senior corn maze and a walking path for anyone who'd rather take it slow.
The 2026 season runs Thursdays through Sundays from September 17 to November 1, plus Columbus Day, 9 am to 6 pm. U-pick pumpkins, sunflowers and zinnias are offered when the weather cooperates, with the flowers and pumpkins priced separately. On flashlight nights, October 10 and 17 in 2026, you can bring a flashlight and walk the maze after dark, with last entry at 9 pm.
General admission is $12 for everyone 3 and older and covers all activities; a $36 season pass is also sold. New for 2026 are hammocks, miniature golf and a bigger covered hayrack ride that is wheelchair accessible. Feed for the petting zoo, donuts, the concession stand and the food truck cost extra. The farm also runs field trips, group events and farming education programs.
Nettle Creek Lavender Farm, west of Morris, is about 18 miles east, roughly a 25-minute drive. Pair the lavender with a summer trip and save Kane for a fall weekend.
