About Faulkner Fisheries
Faulkner Fisheries is a family-owned seafood business that has been trading for more than 40 years, supplying fish and shellfish across Jersey, the other Channel Islands and France. Its home base is the Vivier at L'Étacq, a converted German bunker at the north end of St Ouen's Bay, and that is where visitors come to eat.
In summer the Vivier runs a barbecue menu at lunchtime, Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 3, cooking fresh fish and seafood and serving it with Jersey Royal potatoes and homemade Jersey garlic butter, with local wine and beer alongside. The barbecue runs when the sun is out, so a grey day can mean no cooking; check their social pages or call before going.
The Vivier itself is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 4, and the business sells live, fresh, cooked and smoked seafood. Sitting at the edge of the bay, it is a good spot to break up a drive or walk along the west coast.
Jersey Lavender is about 15 minutes south in St Brelade, so a seafood lunch at the bay pairs well with an afternoon at the lavender farm.
