About Good Planet (home of ZaberriWorld)
Good Planet is the visitor farm of Boman Zakeri, who started out working on someone else's farm at 15 and now runs what the company describes as the country's largest berry-growing business. The pick-your-own fields sit on State Highway 16 between Kumeū and Riverhead, and a small train loops the farm about every 20 minutes in peak season, dropping pickers at the patch they paid for.
Picking normally runs from October to April, seven days a week from 9am to 5pm in peak season, with last entry at 4pm. Strawberries carry the season; raspberries come in from November to April, blackberries from November to January, boysenberries from December to January and blueberries from December to February. The entry fee lets you eat while you pick, and you pay for the fruit by bucket or punnet size. In October 2026 the website listed strawberry entry at NZ$5 per person (under-5s free), buckets from NZ$19.50, raspberry entry at NZ$6, and any two berries for NZ$10. Only the farm's own containers can be used.
Beyond the rows, ZaberriWorld adventure park has an inflatable maze, bungee trampoline, climbing wall and mega slide, and a summer splash park suits children up to 12. The café's menu is fully halal, the ice cream shop makes real fruit ice cream and smoothies, and there are lawns and picnic areas. Birthdays and group events can be booked.
Lavender Hill at 11 Beacon Road in Riverhead is about 10 minutes away. Its farm and distillery tours are booked ahead, so lock in a tour time and fill the rest of the day with berries.
