About Manitoulin Farmstead

Manitoulin Farmstead is a family-run, chemical-free lavender farm and homestead on Rockville Road near Mindemoya, in the middle of Manitoulin Island. The family started the farm to give their children room to roam, and it now combines lavender fields with a small herd of Mini LaMancha goats whose milk goes into the farm's handcrafted goat milk soap.

The lavender blooms through July. The farm is open by appointment only, and visits work through a membership: members can book an appointment or join a scheduled event. In 2026 the season opened on July 4 with a launch party serving chef-made snacks. Summer events have included bouquet picking, yoga in the flower field, picnics and photography sessions, and guests can walk the rows and touch the blooms while the goats graze nearby. The farm also runs a goat adoption program, and supporters can visit their goats in person or online.

The farm's shop sells sparkling lavender lemonade, lavender buds, a lavender ritual gift box, bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup and goat milk soap, and it ships across Canada.

Maja's Garden Bistro in Mindemoya is a few minutes away for a meal on the same trip around the island.
