About Six Hills Brewing
Six Hills Brewing brews and pours its own beer in Stevenage Old Town, behind the High Street with its entrance on Basils Road. The brewery started in 2019 under the name The Broken Seal; new owners Adam and Steve took over just before Christmas 2025, with previous owner and brewer Paul helping during the handover. The tap wall runs to 14 keg and cask lines, made up of six core beers plus one-off specials and seasonal brews.
The taproom is open every day: 5pm to 10pm on Monday and Tuesday, 2pm to 10pm on Wednesday, 2pm to 11pm on Thursday and Friday, noon to 11pm on Saturday and noon to 10pm on Sunday. Local artisan food is served on weekends only, with a menu that changes. Beyond its own beer, the bar keeps a small range of wines and spirits distilled in Hertfordshire, and cans can be filled to order to take home.
The calendar leans toward community nights: quizzes, backgammon evenings, TableTop Tuesdays for board gamers and a creative writing club. Groups can ask about meet-ups, and the brewhouse can be visited or hired by arrangement.
Hitchin Lavender at Ickleford is about 15 minutes north, so a summer lavender visit can finish with an early evening at the taproom.
