About The Crump Family Farm
The Crump Family Farm began in 1990, when Chris and Vivian married and started a pick-your-own strawberry and vegetable farm on Egremont Drive west of Ilderton. Over the years they added a sunflower field, a small herd of Angus-influenced beef cattle and four alpacas, and today the farm shop sells its own pasture-raised beef, chicken, lamb and goat along with its own cold-pressed sunflower oil.
The sunflower walk winds through about 8 acres of trails and opens each year once the flowers bloom; in 2026 the field was in its last blooms in mid-October and set to close October 19. Alpaca walks run 30 to 60 minutes and are booked by phone; the farm says they are offered year-round. Nature trails also loop through wetland and grassland on the property.
Kids have their own barn for play, and the farm hosts birthday parties with nature, animal or art themes, each with a craft and a small ice cream. Larger groups can rent event spaces with access to the trails. The farm shop is the place to stock up on frozen meats and sunflower oil before heading home.
R&B Lavender in Mount Brydges is about 25 minutes south, so a summer lavender visit can pair with a late-summer return for the sunflowers.
