About Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery
Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery sits on more than 120 acres of orchards, gardens and pollinator preserves in the foothills of the Hudson Valley, less than an hour from New York City. It makes three kinds of drinks: Warwick Valley wines, Doc's hard cider, which the farm calls New York's original cider, and spirits including Warwick Gin and Gin Pig from its own craft distillery, Black Dirt Distillery.
The tasting room is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. nearly every day of the year. Tastings in 2026 are $10 for five wines with a glass, $8 for six ciders with a pint glass, $12 for four spirits with a rocks glass, or $25 for a trio of all three. Reservations are not taken for tastings, though groups larger than 15 should call and distillery tours are booked by phone. U-pick apples ran September 5 to November 1, 2026, at $40 for a half-bushel bag of about 22 pounds, with more than 65 varieties ripening in turn from Zestar and Honeycrisp in early September to Fuji and Pink Lady at the end. Flowers such as dahlias and zinnias can be picked until frost.
The café serves wood-fired pizza and seasonal farm-to-table food Wednesday through Sunday, and an outdoor bar and grill opens in season. Live music plays on weekend afternoons. Supervised children are welcome, but there are no rides or petting zoo, and pets are not allowed. In September and October, parking is $10 per car.
The closest lavender farm on our list is Lavender Fields at Maxwell Farm in Delhi, about two hours north in the Catskills, so treat each as its own day out.
