Overview
Pick a kind of work and a machine you own. The machine must be serviced (25% condition or more), and if it is not owner-operated, an available specialist in its role must be on staff. The job then runs on a short timer that is longer when the machine is worn and shorter when the operator is well trained.
The kinds of work
| Work | Uses | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Harvest | Ready, non-pollinator plots (choose stems or distillation) | Stems or flowers into raw inventory; plants regrow from stage 2 |
| Debud | Stored stems (at least 10) | Buds (about 28% to 48% of stems, by quality) and compost |
| Distill | Flower units (up to the still's batch) | Oil (about 1 per 18 units, scaled by quality and Oil stars) and hydrosol (about 34% of units, at least 2) |
| Mow | Nothing | Aisle mowing improves by 35% plus 2% per machine level |
| Weed | Nothing | Weed pressure drops by the same amount; Farm Health improves |
| Genetics | At least two documented cultivars | A trial candidate (see Enterprise genetics) |
How much a harvest cuts
A harvest order cuts up to the machine's rate × 8 plots. Hand shears and the powered cutter take 1 plot; the side-mounted harvester about 6; the flower harvester 8; the two-head harvester about 20; the autonomous fleet about 30. If a plot's harvest window closes before the job ends, it is left standing.
Handling quality
Each job has a handling quality from 55% to 100%, based on the machine's own quality, its condition and the operator's training. Better handling means more output.
Working while you are away
Machines marked as able to work offline keep counting down while the game is closed, for up to 8 hours. Owner-operated tools (hand shears, hand hoe, hand screen, 20 L still, field lab) only work while you are playing. When you run an owner-operated job yourself, you also earn a little XP.
Tips
- Mow and weed regularly: Enterprise readiness counts mowing and weeds.
- Harvest orders respect each cultivar's harvest window, just like hand harvesting.
