Overview
Soil treatments are Farm Map tools. Each one is applied to a single owned tile that is undeveloped ground, a Lavender Row or a Flower Farm, and only after that tile has a soil test. Each treatment earns 2 XP and is recorded in the tile's amendment history and your soil plan.
Treatments
| Tool | Cost | Effect on the tile |
|---|---|---|
| 🐚 Oyster shell | 18 coins | pH up 0.1 |
| ⚪ Lime | 24 coins | pH up 0.25 |
| 🟡 Sulfur | 28 coins | pH down 0.25 |
| 🧊 Gypsum | 26 coins | Drainage +8% (pH unchanged) |
| 🟫 Coarse grit | 20 coins | Drainage +6% (pH unchanged) |
| ⛰️ Raised row | 80 coins | Drainage +10%; up to 3 per tile; needs Level 2 |
Drainage swale
A Drainage swale (35 coins, Level 2) is its own tile. Every tile next to it (left, right, above, below) gets 12% better drainage, and lavender rows beside a swale get +2 health each week.
Limits
- Tile pH stays between 4.5 and 8.8; drainage stays between 20% and 100%.
- A tile can have at most three raised-row improvements.
- Your farm's overall pH and drainage are the average of all the tiles you own.
Field upgrade
The Lavender Field also sells a Raised Rows field upgrade. It protects plots from the 12-health soggy-ground hit in weeks with an inch or more of rain.
Tips
- Huckleberry suggests coarse grit for plants that sit in soggy soil over winter.
- Change pH only when a test says you need to; lavender is happy around 6.5 to 7.5.
