About Colby Hill Inn

Colby Hill Inn is a 14-room country inn on a six-acre property in Henniker whose history goes back to 1797. A dairy barn from the 1840s still stands and now serves as the inn's event hall. The grounds are a working small farm as much as a garden: perennial beds, a gazebo, a rose arbor, a stone sculpture garden, meadows running down to a creek, organic vegetable gardens, and a small herd of French Alpine goats, chickens and turkeys, plus a barn cat.

The inn's restaurant, the Grazing Room, seats 56 for dinner and is one of three restaurants in New Hampshire certified at the gold level for farm-to-table sourcing. There is also a wine lounge built around an original fireplace. Breakfast is included in room rates and is also served to the public, and the outdoor pool is open from late May through October 10.

Seasonal events fill the calendar: the inn lists a Thanksgiving prix-fixe dinner, Christmas Cheer lunches on December weekends, holiday afternoon teas, a New Year's Day farmhouse brunch in 2027 and spring wine dinners. It also plans weddings, private dinners, showers and meetings for groups of up to 120.

Lavender Fields at Pumpkin Blossom Farm in Warner is about 20 minutes north, so a summer stay here lets you pick lavender in the afternoon and be back in Henniker for dinner.
