About Lucchesi Vineyards & Winery

Lucchesi Vineyards & Winery grows its grapes on a 20-acre estate in the Sierra foothills just outside Grass Valley. Mario and Linda Clough started it in 2000 to make wine from their own land, and the vineyard now grows 16 varieties, from familiar reds and whites to grapes for Portuguese-style port. The estate sits on View Forever Lane, and its hilltop terrace looks out over the foothills toward the Sierra.

The winery pours at the estate every day from noon to 5 p.m., and in 2026 a tasting costs $10 per person. Reservations are recommended and can be made through their website, which also books vineyard tours. If you would rather stay in town, the winery runs a second tasting room at 117 Mill Street in downtown Grass Valley (530-263-8304), with its own hours.

The estate doubles as a wedding venue and offers a vacation rental on the property, and the winery sells tickets to occasional events and pop-ups through their website. The website does not mention policies on children, dogs or picnics, so call ahead if those matter for your group.

Tres Jolie Lavender Farm, which distills its own oil and opens for U-pick by appointment in June and July, is about 20 minutes south in Grass Valley, a good pairing for an early-summer foothills day.
