About Harvest and Light
Harvest and Light, on Church Street in Geeveston, is two things under one roof: a photographic gallery and a small-batch picklery that makes preserves on site from local produce. It reopened in December 2022 and has become a relaxed place to stop in the far south of the Huon Valley, with changing exhibitions on the walls (in October 2026, a show called Feathers).
You can buy jars from the picklery to take home, or sit down to a cheeseboard built around the house preserves, which is coeliac friendly. There is also a wine and spirits list for those staying a while.
Opening hours are short, so plan around them: Thursday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and a pop-up market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. Bookings can be made through their website, and closures are posted there and on their social pages.
Campo de Flori, the lavender farm at Glen Huon, is about 25 minutes north via Huonville. It runs tours and wreath workshops by appointment, so a Thursday or Friday booked visit to the farm pairs well with a late-afternoon cheeseboard in Geeveston.
