About Megalong Creek Estate
Megalong Creek Estate is a family-run boutique vineyard on Aspinall Road in the Megalong Valley, one of the few spots in the Blue Mountains where grapes are grown. The family established the vineyard in 2002 and added Pinot, Grenache and Mourvèdre plantings in 2018. Fruit is hand-picked on the property and taken to Mudgee, where Jacob Stein of Robert Stein wines makes it into wine.
Tastings run on weekends and can be booked online. The single-vineyard range takes in Viognier, Pinot Grigio, Pinot and Shiraz, along with Prozzante, a lightly sparkling Prosecco-style wine, and a late-harvest dessert wine. For now the cellar door is a converted shipping container and barn with a tasting bar and views across the valley, and the resident alpacas live nearby. A new cellar door is being built, with events already booked there for 2027.
The estate holds seasonal events, including Christmas in July (25 July 2026, ticketed), a Father's Day lunch with live music in September, Sunday Sessions with live music on some Sundays, and winter weekends of hot soup with wine. Grazing boards are prepared at the cellar door, and the barn can be hired for small weddings, elopements and private events.
Blue Mountains Lavender at Little Hartley is about 45 minutes away via Blackheath, but its farm is closed to the public for summer 2026/27, so check their website before planning a combined day.
