About Megalong Valley Tea Rooms

The Megalong Valley Tea Rooms have been feeding travelers on the valley floor below Blackheath since 1956, and they are the last of the many tea rooms that once dotted the valley. Today they are part of the LOT 101 farm estate. You can sit indoors or out in the garden, with the valley and its sandstone cliffs all around.

The menu runs from breakfast through lunch: bacon and egg rolls, baked eggs and a full Megalong breakfast in the morning, then toasties (including a Reuben with the farm's own corned beef), a pot pie of the day and a ploughman's plate. The scones are the signature, and there is banana bread and brownies, plus coffee, loose-leaf teas and milkshakes. Prices in 2026 include A$15 for scones and A$22 for the pot pie. Everything is cooked in a kitchen where allergens are present, so talk to staff about allergies.

The tea rooms double as the estate's farm gate, selling freshly picked vegetables and other local produce. On Saturdays from November to June there is a farm gate market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome every day; groups of 10 or more can book Monday to Friday.

The drive down Megalong Road from Blackheath takes 10 to 15 minutes. From there, Little Hartley and Blue Mountains Lavender are roughly 40 minutes away via Blackheath and Victoria Pass; the lavender farm is not opening to visitors for the 2026/27 season.
