About Minnesota's Largest Candy Store
You can't miss the long yellow barn beside Highway 169 just south of Jordan. It began as the farm stand on the Wagner family's apple farm, known for years as Jim's Apple Farm, where they sold apples, pumpkins and squash. The family has owned the land for close to 50 years, and a small barn has grown through nearly 20 additions into a 27,000-square-foot store where candy is now the main attraction.
Inside are aisles of nostalgic and hard-to-find sweets and a soda selection the store bills as the world's largest, with flavors you rarely see elsewhere. There's also popcorn, pasta, meats, fresh baked goods and products raised or made on nearby farms. In 2024 the owners announced a move across the highway because a planned overpass would cut off access; by 2026 they had dropped that plan, and the store is staying at its original site.
The store is seasonal. In 2026 it opened April 16, earlier than the mid-May start that Shakopee's visitor bureau describes as typical, and it stays open into November. Hours reported for 2026 are 8am to 7pm, with later closing on some days, so call ahead if you're coming in the evening. It's cash only. Kids love it, and it makes an easy treat stop on a drive through the Minnesota River valley.
Morning Glory Valley, a lavender farm north of Jordan, is about 6 miles northeast, roughly 10 minutes up Highway 169.
