About Out of the Fire

Out of the Fire opened in Easton's historic district on June 1, 2000, and in September 2022 it moved into a renovated 19th-century house at 111 South Washington Street, a short walk from the center of town. Its motto, Eat Well. Be Well. Give Back., sums up the approach: creative cooking built around local producers and a strong sense of community.

The lunch menu centers on pizzas, from a classic margherita to a bianca with ricotta and roasted garlic, a maitake mushroom pie, a duck sausage pizza and a vegan option. Beyond pizza there are mussels, a meze platter with house hummus, tapenade and tzatziki, a grass-fed burger from locally raised beef, and sandwiches made with chicken from Springfield Farm. Several dishes are marked gluten-free, and a separate dessert menu rounds out the meal.

Lunch is served Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 AM to 2 PM, and dinner starts at 5 PM on the same days. Reservations are encouraged for both, though walk-ins are seated when there's room. The restaurant also runs an online market for its house-made sourdough, focaccia and naan, dips, crackers and pantry goods from partner farms, plus Thanksgiving turkey pre-orders in the fall.

Street parking is on West, South and South Washington streets, with three accessible spaces beside the front porch and a ramp up to the entrance. Smokey Cat Lavender Farm in Federalsburg is about 30 minutes southeast, so lunch here works well before an afternoon at the farm.
