About Porter's Patch
Porter's Patch is a seventh-generation family farm on Highway 156 just outside Bonduel, worked by the Porter family since the 1870s. Today it is known for two seasons: pick-your-own berries in summer and Farmtoberfest in fall, when about 20 acres fill with more than 50 activities and a pumpkin patch of 68 varieties.
Strawberry picking usually opens around mid-June and lasts two to three weeks, with picking from 8 a.m. to noon. You get a gallon bucket at the field, start at a flag and fill the bucket full; the farm also grows raspberries, blueberries, peas and other vegetables, offered picked or pick-your-own as they ripen. Farmtoberfest runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 18 through October 31, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission covers the Pumpkin Head Corn Maze Challenge, the barn hill slide, round-bale hay play, a Western village, pumpkin bowling and putt, disc golf, a craft shed, scarecrow building, a walking-trail scavenger hunt and a petting zoo with goats, chickens and pigs. Pumpkins run $1 to $15 by size, and mums, squash, straw bales and corn shocks are sold at a stand before the gate, no ticket needed. Food trucks serve on weekends, local musicians play on several fall dates, and the farm books fall field trips. The farm says a family can easily spend three to four hours.
Pristine Lavender in Pulaski is about 25 minutes east, so a June strawberry pick here can lead into an afternoon at the lavender farm.
