About Rancho Nicasio

Rancho Nicasio is a roadhouse restaurant and bar on the town square of Nicasio, a small ranching village that sits, by the restaurant's account, at the center of Marin County. It was built in 1941 on the site of the Hotel Nicasio, a 22-room inn from 1867 that burned in December 1940. It shares the square with St. Mary's Church, founded in 1890, along with a general store, a post office and the volunteer fire department.

Food is served indoors and outdoors seven days a week, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends, with brunch on Saturday and Sunday until 3 p.m. For many visitors the draw is the music: most shows are dinner shows with seating from 6 to 8 p.m. and music at 7:30, and some are afternoon sets. The fall 2026 calendar runs from blues and Americana to tribute bands, with a Halloween masquerade ball on October 31 and a New Year's Eve dinner show. In summer the lawn hosts a series of barbecues.

Tickets for shows are sold through their website, and dinner reservation times are listed with each show. The property also hosts weddings, company picnics and private parties.

Point Reyes Lavender Company is the nearest lavender farm in our directory, roughly 30 minutes away. Check their website for visiting details, then plan an evening show in Nicasio.
