About Troon Vineyard

Troon Vineyard farms one hundred acres in the Applegate Valley and calls itself the only winery and farm in the world that holds both Demeter Biodynamic and Regenerative Organic Gold certification. Sheep, chickens and re-wilded honeybees share the land with the vines, a vegetable garden and orchards that include cider apples. The wines are fermented with native yeasts only, without additives or new oak, and the lineup leans toward grapes such as Vermentino, Roussanne, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Tannat.

The tasting room on Kubli Road is open every day from 11 am to 5 pm. Reservations are encouraged but not required, so you can book through their website or stop in. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic and spread out on the lawn and in the gardens around the tasting room, and there is a free EV charging station in the lot.

On Sundays the farm holds a market with biodynamic produce from its own fields, live music and local artists, and the farm's chef cooks garden-to-guest lunches from what is harvested on site; check their website for the current market season and hours. For those who want to stay longer, the winery also rents a vacation home in the vineyard. If you are heading north, Troon runs a separate biodynamic wine bar in downtown McMinnville, open daily from noon to 8 pm.

Kingfisher Farms, which grows about 21 lavender varieties on Applegate Road, is roughly 20 minutes away, and The English Lavender Farm is also in the Applegate Valley, so a summer day here can mix lavender, a farm market and a picnic tasting.
