Overview
The heart of the farm is your lavender field, laid out at real size with each plot a stretch of its row. Young plants stay small; established ones grow into full mounds, look sheared right after harvest, and flatten when frosted, badly wilted or very weak. Walk the rows to tend each plant.
Working the rows
- Walk up to a plant and gold buttons appear: water it, inspect it, harvest it when it's ready. Or pick a tool on the tool belt and click the plant.
- On foot at an empty spot in a row, you can plant it right there, like the 2D field.
- Job bubbles over the plants show what needs doing. On foot, only the few nearest show.
- When planting is closed (too early or too late in the season), the game tells you why and offers 🌱 Plant anyway if you want to take the risk.
Trouble spots
Every active pest, wildlife or disease case is a trouble spot in the rows. Walk up and 🔍 Look closer (5 coins) to notice its signs. After two clues you know what it is, and you can pick a response from the same list as the Farm Health page. When the trouble is wildlife and Finnegan is with you, he trots over to keep watch.
Weeds and the field board
Weeds grow in the 3D rows. Walk up to a weedy plot to pull, cultivate or reset it. The aisle grass grows taller as your mowing slips, and weeds come up as the weed level rises. The field board by the field is where you mow the aisles and weed the rows.
The field desk
A potting bench and chalkboard stand at the front corner of the rows. Walk up to it for:
- 🪻 Choose cultivar (the same list as the Plant tool).
- 🛠️ Field upgrades: improvements for the whole field, each bought once, the same as in the 2D field.
- 🔎 Walk the rows (preventive scout) for 6 coins, when there's no active case.
- 🧪 Record soil test, 📖 Field almanac, 📓 Field journal, and 🗺️ Plan in the 2D field.
What else you'll see
- Field upgrades on the land: drip lines, cedar-edged raised rows, and frost covers (white fabric over hoops in winter, rolled up at the row ends the rest of the year).
- 🌱 Grow Along pots: a pot for each real lavender you grow at home. Walk up for this week's care and the real weather near you. An empty pot invites you to start.
- The pruning cart at the field's west corner prunes the rows and spreads or stores the frost cover.
- Enterprise beds: every plot in your Diversified Farm Plan is a raised bed west of the lavender. Walk up to plant, harvest or clear it.
- Bees flying from flower to flower in bloom (turn them off in Settings if you like).
