Plant Anyway

When outdoor planting is closed, the alert offers Plant anyway: the plant goes in, but for its first three farm weeks the weather may hurt or kill it.

🎮 Play it in the game

Overview

Real growers sometimes take a chance, and so can you. If you try to plant while the planting window is shut, a frost is on, the soil is cold or the ground is too wet, the action alert adds 🌱 Plant anyway with the odds. The plant goes in the ground and then faces what a real transplant would. A cultivar that cannot live in your zone at all still cannot be planted. It works the same way in the 3D farm.

The risks

The next three weeks

  • Each week the week's weather rolls the dice. Cold risks get worse the colder it gets (lows of 40°F, 32°F and 28°F are the steps).
  • Heat risk grows at highs of 82°F and 90°F, and is halved if the plant's moisture is 50% or more.
  • Wet-ground risk is high if an inch or more of rain falls or the soil stays at 85% moisture.
  • A plant can be lost, can lose 8 to 16 health, or can come through. After three weeks it is safe, and you get 8 XP for each plant that rooted in.
