✏️ Report outdated info

Harwich sits on the Lower Cape between Brewster's kettle ponds, Chatham's harbor and the Atlantic beaches of Orleans and Eastham. Cape Cod Lavender Farm is tucked off Weston Woods Road on 11 acres with more than 7,000 plants, ringed by about 75 acres of conservation land with quiet woodland trails. It is free to visit and open March through December.

Most visitors come in summer, when the fields bloom and the harvest runs from late June into July, but the farm itself suggests March to May and September to December for a quieter walk. Everything below is within about 20 miles: the paved Cape Cod Rail Trail passes a few minutes from the farm, Nickerson State Park and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History are in Brewster, and Chatham's Atwood Museum and Monomoy refuge are a short drive east. Nauset Light and the National Seashore beaches anchor the outer end of a day trip.

Cape Cod Lavender Farm's harvest and bloom run from late June to mid-July, its busiest stretch; the farm is open March through December, Monday–Saturday 10–4 and Sunday noon–4, and spring (March–May) and fall (September–December) are quieter. National Seashore beaches have lifeguards from late June through Labor Day, and Nickerson State Park charges day-use parking from May 23 to October 12. After mid-September, leashed dogs can return to Monomoy's Morris Island trails (allowed September 16–April 30). Fall is good for the Rail Trail and the Atwood Museum, which stays open Friday and Saturday into November. Many places scale back in late fall: in 2026, Nauset House Inn closes October 17 and Cape Sea Grille closes for winter on December 5.
