About Cape Sea Grille

Cape Sea Grille is a dinner restaurant in a 19th-century sea captain's house on Sea Street in Harwich Port, a few houses up from the beach. Chef and owner Douglas Ramler cooks creative American food built on local ingredients, native seafood and sustainably raised meats, and 2026 is the restaurant's 25th season. The dining rooms are set with white linens, warm lighting and fresh flowers.

The menu changes often. Recent entrees have included grilled Atlantic swordfish, seared local sea scallops, a pan-seared whole lobster, braised pork osso buco, Long Island duck breast and a grilled flat iron steak, with entrees in 2026 running roughly $40 to $50. The bar mixes cocktails and specialty martinis, with non-alcoholic choices too, and the wine list has about 20 wines by the glass and around 100 bottles.

Dinner is served Wednesday through Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m., and the restaurant closes for the winter in early December. Guests can reserve the main dining room, a table in the bar dining room or a seat in the enclosed outdoor tent, which is unheated but stocked with blankets. Bar seats are first come, first served. Gift cards are sold in person or by phone, and private events are booked outside the mid-June to mid-September peak.

Cape Cod Lavender Farm is only about 5 minutes north in Harwich, so a summer afternoon in the lavender fields can end with dinner here.
