About BAD Brewing Company

BAD Brewing Company is a craft brewery on South Jefferson Street in downtown Mason, south of Lansing. The taproom has a lower bar and a newer upper bar, shelves of board games and books for guests, and a patio that fills up in summer. In winter a greenhouse and a private hut give groups somewhere warm to sit outside the main room.

The tap list goes beyond beer. Recent pours have included a rye double IPA, a grape cider and a strawberry rhubarb crumble mead, along with frozen slushies in raspberry lemonade and blue raspberry. Food comes from the brewery's own kitchen, which has turned out smoked meats, salads and tacos; the kitchen closes two hours before the bar.

Events run all year: vinyl nights with a DJ, patio bingo and games, book hangouts, holiday gatherings and a summer street party with live music. Space, parties and games can be booked through links on their website, and Mason's social district information is posted there too. Pets are not allowed inside or on the patio under county health rules, though service animals are welcome.

Hamlett Lavender Farm near Pinckney is about 50 minutes southeast. Its Lavender Shed opens by appointment and it holds a few events a year, so plan around its schedule and use BAD Brewing as the dinner stop.
