About Cotswolds Distillery
Cotswolds Distillery opened in July 2014 at Stourton, in the north Cotswold hills, founded by Dan Szor. Gin came first and whisky followed, and today the range runs from the Cotswolds Signature Single Malt and Bourbon, Sherry and Peated cask expressions to Cotswolds Dry Gin and other gins such as Wildflower and Hedgerow.
The 90-minute Tour and Tasting takes you through the distillery and cask warehouse, then into a guided tasting of whisky, gin and liqueurs, at £30 a head. From October 2026 to April 2027, tours run Friday and Saturday at 10:30am, 1pm and 3pm, and Sunday to Thursday at 11am and 2pm. Expect about 45 minutes on your feet; flat, closed-toe shoes are required. Tours are strictly for over-18s with Challenge 25 ID checks, and drivers can use spittoons or ask for a takeaway tasting pack. Whisky blending masterclasses are also offered.
The Still House Café sits beside the working distillery and serves sharing boards, sourdough pizzas and cakes, with outdoor seating in good weather; it doesn't take bookings. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the café, though not on tours. There's also The Hidden Still Bar, live music on the terrace, and a shop selling distillery-only releases.
Cotswold Lavender at Snowshill is about 25 minutes west, so a summer lavender walk and an afternoon tour here make a full Cotswolds day.
