About Daylesford Organic Farm

Daylesford is an organic farm on the edge of the Cotswolds near Kingham, where the farm shop, bakery, creamery and kitchens sit beside a market garden that is picked fresh each morning. The shop is the heart of a visit, with a zero-waste pantry where you fill your own containers, plus homeware and garden rooms.

More than 2,000 acres of farm walks are open all year, and some of the signposted routes suit buggies and small children; a walking map can be downloaded from their website. Three times a year the farmer leads tractor-trailer tours: at Easter to see the lambs, during the May summer festival, and at the September harvest celebrations. Pick-your-own strawberries are offered in July, and on Fridays during the school summer holidays (July to the first week of September) the head gardener leads market garden visits from 2pm to 3pm.

There are several places to eat. The Trough serves breakfast, lunch and dinner (dinner 6pm to 8:30pm, Monday to Saturday); The Old Spot does morning food, lunch and takeaway pizza in the evening; The Legbar is open into the evening; and a shepherd's hut by the walks serves toasties, soup and coffee. The cookery school runs courses from quick suppers to bread making and nose-to-tail butchery, alongside garden and floristry workshops. A spa and five converted farmhouse cottages are also on the estate, and there is electric car charging on site.

Cotswold Lavender at Snowshill, near Broadway, is about 25 minutes northwest through Stow-on-the-Wold; its fields open from mid-June to early August, so a July day can take in the lavender and Daylesford's strawberry picking.
