About Hayles Fruit Farm

Hayles Fruit Farm is a family-owned farm on the outskirts of Winchcombe, the Cotswold market town. Its orchards supply its own apple juice and cider, grown, pressed, pasteurized and bottled on the farm, and cider has been made here since the days of Lord Sudeley, still by traditional methods.

Pick-your-own follows the fruit: strawberries roughly June to September, plums in August and September, apples from August into October, pears in September and October, and pumpkins in October. Crop availability changes week to week, so the farm asks visitors to check its social pages or call the shop before setting out.

The farm shop is open 9am to 5pm daily except Mondays and stocks seasonal fruit and vegetables, meat, cheese, preserves, cakes and cordials from the farm and local producers, alongside the bottled juice and cider. The Orchard Kitchen café serves brunch until 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday, with eggs Benedict, full breakfasts, homemade baking, barista coffee and loose-leaf tea, and has vegan and gluten-free choices. Weekends are walk-in only; groups and parties can arrange bookings during the week. The farm also has a campsite, fishing, a nature trail and barbecue classes.

Cotswold Lavender at Snowshill is about 15 to 20 minutes northeast over the hills, so a July day can start in the lavender and finish with brunch, strawberries or a bottle of Hayles cider for the table at home.
