About Cowbell Brewing Co.
Cowbell Brewing Co. grew out of an idea that took shape in 2016 on more than 120 acres of Huron County farmland just outside Blyth. The building was meant to look at home in the farm country around it, and inside the restaurant you get a 45-foot ceiling, a stone fireplace and a view of the brewhouse from the bar. The brewery holds a Gold accessibility certification from the Rick Hansen Foundation.
On tap you will find Donnybrook Easy IPA, Hazy Days Juicy IPA, Bobcat Red Ale, Absent Landlord Kölsch, Shindig Lager and a newer Standard Light Lager, plus hard ciders, seltzers and non-alcoholic beer. The patio looks over the surrounding fields and welcomes dogs when the weather allows.
The restaurant cooks with seasonal, local ingredients and features wood-fired pizzas, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free choices and a kids menu, so it works for a family meal. Thresher's Hall is a more casual room for games and snacks, and the brewery runs regular events such as trivia nights. The shop sells beer, cider and merchandise to take home.
Lavender Works Co. near Brussels is about 20 minutes east. On a July day, walk the lavender rows and try lavender ice cream there, then come back to Cowbell for an early dinner on the patio.
