About Davison's Ice Cream Parlour

Davison's has been making ice cream on the Isle of Man since 1995, and the family business began in a small shop in Peel. Its parlour and café on Shore Road looks over the beach and the town's historic seafront. The dairy ice cream is made with Isle of Man double cream and butter, flavored with Italian fruit flavorings and French vanilla, and the business also makes chocolates by hand in Peel using Belgian chocolate.

The parlour is open all year except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. From September 1, 2026 to April 1, 2027 it opens 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting, and from April through August 2027 the hours stretch to 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A winter visit is quieter; on a warm summer afternoon the seafront is the busiest part of town.

Besides ice cream, the café serves breakfast and lunch, with vegetarian options. Children are welcome and highchairs are available, the building has disabled access and accessible toilets, and dogs are welcome. Coach parties are accepted. Prices on the island's tourism listing run from about £1 to £10, and major cards are taken. Parking is along the seafront rather than on site, with room for cars, motorbikes, bicycles and coaches.

Manx Lavender at Berrag Farm, Sandygate, in the north of the island, is about 13 miles away, roughly a 25 to 30 minute drive. Their lavender is at its best in summer, with the last harvest in mid-August, so a July or early August loop from the lavender fields to Peel's beach for an ice cream works well.
