About Manx Lavender
Manx Lavender grows its lavender on Berrag Farm at Sandygate, in the farmland of the Isle of Man's north. About 2.5 acres hold more than 5,000 plants of seven varieties: Hidcote, Munstead, Grosso, Rosea, Arctic Snow, Victory and Phenomenal. A 300-tree cider apple orchard has been planted in the next field, some fields grow fodder for a local dairy herd, and a small flock of Ouessant sheep helps keep the weeds down.
The farm produces essential oil from May until the last harvest in mid-August; its bottled oil comes from lavandin, a hybrid of English and Portuguese lavender, and the flowers and oil go into a range of farm products. The online shop lists room mist, handwash, hand cream, massage oil, pulse-point rollers, hair care, a face serum and moisturizer, wax melts, candles, chocolate-chip lavender shortbread and dark chocolate lavender discs.
Visits are arranged through the booking page on their website rather than on fixed open days; in 2026 the farm listed a volunteer weeding day in mid-June. The farm also hosts weddings among the lavender. Check the booking page and their social pages in spring for summer dates before making the trip.
Milntown Café near Ramsey is about 5 miles east and makes an easy lunch stop on the same drive.
