About The Fynoderee Distillery

The Fynoderee Distillery has made spirits in Ramsey, the seaside town in the north of the Isle of Man, since 2017. Its name comes from the Fynoderee, a figure in a traditional Manx tale set in nearby Glen Auldyn, where a forest project has been bringing native juniper back to the island. The distillery is a partner business of UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man. The range covers a Signature Gin, Elder Shee and Elder Shee Rose gins, a limited Autumn Gin, a sloe gin made from Manx sloes picked by hand each autumn, spiced and cask-aged rums and a vodka.

The Distillery Tour and Tasting costs £25 and runs about an hour and a half. It starts with a welcome gin and tonic, tells the Fynoderee story, goes into the warehouse to see the stills and ends with a guided tasting of gins, vodka and spiced rum. Drivers get two miniature bottles to take home instead of the drinks. Cocktail classes for groups of 8 to 12 cost £35 per person, or £20 for the alcohol-free version, and are booked by arrangement.

The Fyn Bar and shop at the distillery are open Tuesday to Thursday from noon to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until late; they are closed Sunday and Monday. Table bookings are recommended, and groups larger than 10 should call or email. The bar serves cocktails, the house spirits, local beer and wine, soft drinks and coffee. Note that the premises are not fully wheelchair accessible: tours start on the first-floor mezzanine, though private accessible tours can be arranged.

Manx Lavender at Sandygate is about 12 minutes west of Ramsey, so a summer afternoon can take in the lavender before an early evening at the Fyn Bar.
