About Dell Quay PYO
Dell Quay PYO is a pick-your-own farm at Crouchers Farm on Birdham Road, about a mile south of Chichester near the edge of Chichester Harbour. More than 35,000 strawberry and raspberry plants grow in polytunnels on raised tables, so picking is undercover and at a comfortable height, which suits young children, pushchairs and anyone who would rather not kneel. Strawberry varieties include Limalexia, Parlando and Allegro.
Berry picking runs through the summer months. In October the farm turns to pumpkins: in 2026 the patch opens on 17 and 18 October and then daily from 23 to 31 October, 9:30am to 4:30pm. Entry is free and you pay only for what you pick, with no booking needed. The farm also grows Christmas trees.
There is an on-site café with barista coffee, tea, ice cream, toasties, pizzas and cakes, plus a picnic area. Children get a large open play area with a mud kitchen, pedal tractors, a sand area and hay bales. Facilities include toilets with accessible toilets, and parking is free. Cyclists can come via the Salterns Way, where bike parking is provided, and local buses run from Chichester.
Lordington Lavender, in the South Downs north of Chichester, is about 20 minutes away by car. It opens only on a few booked days in July, so check its dates and plan a berry-picking morning at Dell Quay around one of them.
