About Tinwood Estate

Tinwood Estate is a family-owned vineyard run by the Tukker family on the edge of the South Downs National Park near Chichester, established in 2007. It grows the three classic Champagne grapes, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and makes English sparkling wine from them, including a Blanc de Blancs, a Brut, a Rosé and a limited Blanc de Noir.

The estate is open all year. The vineyard tour and tasting runs daily, takes about an hour and a half and costs £21 a head (as listed October 2026), with a guided walk through the vines and three glasses of sparkling wine and tips on food pairing. Non-drinkers and children can have three mocktails instead. Tours run in rain or shine, and umbrellas are provided. There's also a sparkling afternoon tea tour.

The Vineyard Kitchen serves tapas-style dishes daily from 9am to 5:30pm, with walk-ins only. Families are welcome, with high chairs and baby changing available, and well-behaved dogs on leads can join tours and are welcome in the tasting room and kitchen. The tour is wheelchair friendly with little walking. Luxury lodges among the vines, with dinner hampers delivered at 6pm and breakfast at 9am, make it possible to stay over.

Lordington Lavender is about 20 minutes west along the foot of the South Downs, so a summer lavender visit and an afternoon tour here fit well together.
