About Dry Fly Distilling

Dry Fly Distilling calls itself a grain-to-glass operation: the grain for its spirits comes from family farms within about 30 miles of the distillery, so the spirits are tied to the farmland around Spokane. The distillery and its bar are on West Riverside Avenue in downtown Spokane. Recent releases include canned ready-to-drink cocktails and WAZZU Whiskey, made under license with Washington State University.

The distillery is open every day: Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Inside, there is a cocktail menu built on the house spirits and a menu of bites, which makes it a workable lunch or early dinner stop downtown rather than only a place to buy a bottle. Bottles, canned cocktails and branded gear are sold through their website.

A space called The Mezzanine is used for events, and the distillery keeps a calendar of ticketed events on its website. Their website is for people 21 and older, so plan this as an adults-only stop, and check with the distillery before bringing anyone under 21.

The lavender farms nearest Spokane are small. Abby Normal Farm is in Valleyford, about 20 minutes southeast of downtown, and Dark Horse Lavender & Herb Farm and S&L Lavender Farm are north of the city near Chattaroy, about 30 minutes away. Check each farm's page for open days before planning a summer loop.
