About Greene Fields Farm
Greene Fields Farm is run by Regan and Christie Joehl and their sons on Daum Station Road outside Greenfield. It started in 2016 as a 2.5-acre pumpkin patch planted to give the family affordable pumpkin picking, and a strong first crop led them to open it to neighbors. It has since grown to a working farm with pumpkins, u-cut flowers, an apple orchard, Berkshire pigs, chickens and dairy cows, and the family's Catholic faith is part of the setting, with religious art and Scripture on display.
The farm opens on fall weekends; in 2026 that was September 5 through October 31, Friday and Saturday 10 to 5, Sunday noon to 5, plus Columbus Day. You can pick pumpkins in the patch and cut flowers, and the apple orchard runs a u-pick from mid-September into late October, with varieties such as Pixie Crunch, Crimson Crisp, SunCrisp, Fuji, LudaCrisp and EverCrisp at $10 a half peck. The orchard closed for the 2026 season once the trees were picked out. Strawberries are planned for spring 2027.
Admission and the kids' activities are free: a straw bale fort with racing slides, a roller slide, corn boxes, a hay bale maze, duck races, jumbo checkers, a lookout tower and a combine slide. In the barn children can meet pigs, chickens, sheep, dairy cows, calves and kittens. Concessions use the farm's own pork and apples: Berkshire brats, pork chop sandwiches, cider donuts, caramel apples, kettle corn, pumpkin milkshakes and apple cider slushies. The farm also hosts field trips.
Bishop Spring Lavender Farm, another Greene County farm with free-admission you-pick days, is about 30 minutes northwest near Hillview.
